Brenda Carol Tomlin

Brenda Carol Tomlin, 76, of Haleyville, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, at Athens Limestone Hospital.  
Born to Icie Ermine Keith and Buel Clendenin on March 18, 1942.
Brenda was a native of Portageville, Mo., but later became a lifelong resident of Haleyville.  Brenda, known simply as “Nana”, was a loving person who never met a stranger.  A well-loved member of the Haleyville community, Brenda made friends everywhere she went.  She retired from Winston Marion ARC after 25 years.  A consummate encourager, Brenda lifted the spirits of all who knew her.  She will forever be remembered for her gentle and loving nature which embraced not only family and friends, but any animal in her care.  She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who will be missed and loved forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Welton Arnold Simpson and Icie Ermine Keith, of Portageville.
She is survived by her son, Kevin (Carrie) Tomlin; daughter, Courtney (Mark) Maclin and six grandchildren, Wyatt, Sam, Ella, Caroline, Olivia and Merritt.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that all donations be made to Free State Four Paws or the Winston Marion ARC.
Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens is assisting the family.
