HALEYVILLE - Haleyville Elementary School has upgraded security features by providing a greeter at the left entrance door at the front of the school.

Election of officers results in BCDA board turnover

Newly elected officers of the BCDA board are Jeff Mobley as board vice chairman and Connie Morrison as board chairperson.Judge Roy Moore, who was absent from the meeting, was kept as BCDA secretary

HODGES - Election of officers for the year at the Friday, Feb. 9, meeting of the Bear Creek Development caused a complete board turnover with five votes going for Connie Morrison as chairperson.

HALEYVILLE - Clean out those closets and make a donation to Cinderella's Closet at Haleyville High School. Formal dresses, shoes and jewelry are being gathered to help young ladies for the prom season. Contact Haleyville High School if you can help with this project at 205-486-3122. 

Fire at The Galley Restaurant

HALEYVILLE - The Haleyville Fire Department, with assistance from Bear Creek, Craft and Delmar, were on the scene of a fire at the Galley Restaurant on Highway 13 South Wednesday night into Thursday morning, Feb. 8.   Owner Venita Armstrong Hamrick reported that the fire was at the rear of the restaurant.  The extent of damage is being determined.

Bands announced for 911 Festival

HALEYVILLE -  The  long awaited official announcement of the bands performing in the Haleyville 911 Festival Friday, June 1 is headlined by Craig Morgan. The remaining lineup leading up to Morgan’s headline act will start with Austin Lewis followed by Trinecia Hall Butler & the band Tremayne, followed by the ROCK sound from Handshake Promise followed by Red Marlow.
