Collene Parris Brown

Collene Parris Brown, 92, of Arley, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center.

She was born October 13, 1930. Collene was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and made the world’s best walnut cake.  She loved to garden and could grow flowers out of concrete and she was also an amazing seamstress and sewed for many people in the area.

Her visitation will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church. Her funeral will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, with burial to follow at the adjoining cemetery. Brother Greg Dollar will officiate.  Nichols Funeral Home will direct.

Collene is survived by her daughters, Deborah James and Martha Bowling; grandchildren, Terry (Amber) James, Christi James, Kevin (Christi) Bowling, Jason (Lori) Bowling, Scott (Miranda) Bowling, Catherine (Tony) Reeves and Cassie Hughes; great-grandchildren, Austin Bowling, Jaycey (Matt) Moore, Caleb Bowling, Callie Bowling, Claire Bowling, Briley Bowling, Sadie Bowling, Jaxon James, Luke James, Autumn James, Elijah Wood, Zeppelin Hughes, Ashlynn (Jonathan) Hamilton and Zachary Reeves and special friends, Martha Allen and Sharon Benson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert W. Brown; mother, Martha Wood Parris; father, Mozell Parris; son, Keith Brown; great-granddaughter, Autumn Wood; son-in-law, John Bowling and sisters, Mary Lollar and Tommie Parris.
