Robert Earl Shook Sr., 65, of Russellville, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, after an extended illness.
Robert was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and of the Baptist faith. He worked over 40 years as an over the road trucker for many trucking companies. He was a machinist with TVA for over 10 years but always returned to trucking when layoffs came.
He is survived by his son, Robert Earl Shook Jr. (Vickie); daughter, Andrea Marie Ruiz (Carlos); grandchildren, Zarya Moonstone (Row), Dakotah Shook, Reyna Shook (Jedidiah), Victoria Shook (Jacob Buttshot), Carlos Ruiz and Zoey Shook (Papa’s Racing Buddy); great-grandhildren, Liam and Atlas; special nieces, Kallysta and Talynn Kilpatrick; brothers, Kenneth Lindsey (TJ); sisters, Susan Love (Dwight) and Mattie Kalmbach (John); a special thank you to his special friend, Virginia Clark “MeMe”; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss Robert’s energetic personality and bright smile. Always laughing and pulling a joke on anyone... he never met a stranger.
Robert was preceded in death by his wives, Margaret Leigh Shook and Shara Lynn Shook; parents, Charles and Mattie Shook; brother, Dell Shook and sisters, Naomi Leeth and Twana Kilpatrick.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Pinkard Funeral Home of Russellville from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m., with his funeral following in the funeral home chapel at noon. Bro. Keith Prince and Bro. Steve Amos will officiate. Interment will be at Spruce Pine Cemetery.
