Wild Wednesday Nature Hikes for Kids and Families

Date

Wild Alabama's Wild Wednesday Nature Hikes for Kids and Families are a fun and safe way to explore the Bankhead National Forest.  Wild Alabama staff are leading free guided nature hikes for kids and their adults every Wednesday, through the first week in August, to some of the most accessible, spectacularly beautiful, wet and wondrous places in the forest.

Through fun exploration on the trail and in the water, hikers learn about Leave No Trace, the natural and cultural history of the area and what lives in the water and on the land. Adults also learn about places to take their children on their own.

A family group must include at least one child or teenager under the age of 18.  No dogs and no smoking, please.

For more information, contact Janice Barrett at janice@wildal.org, or register here. Please note that registering for an event does not guarantee you a spot. You will be contacted via email by our staff to ensure your spot is reserved.

A meet-up location and a detailed list of what to bring will be sent to those who sign up. Start times may vary.
