David Howell Marlin, 68, of Addison, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at his residence.
He was born March 2, 1956 to Frank Howell Marlin Jr. and Margaret Jo Staggs Marlin. David loved sports, especially Alabama football and NASCAR racing. He played football at Addison High School, where he graduated in 1975, and he loved to reminisce about his time there. David took pride in his six grandchildren: Hannah Phillips, Ethan Phillips, Jordan Phillips, Jensen Marlin, Harper Marlin and Bryce Marlin. His neighbors throughout the years would tell you that he loved music, as they had to frequently ask him to turn it down.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 12-2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where his funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Houston Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ethan Phillips, Jordan Phillips, Garrett Wilhite, Devin Marlin, Justin Marlin and Andrew Marlin.
David is survived by his son, Justin (April) Marlin; daughter, Tamara Bailey; sisters, Vickie (Michael) Davis and Marie Marlin; brothers, Michael (Martha) Marlin, Burl Marlin, James Marlin, Frank Marlin and Alan Brazier; niece, Emberly (Jacob) Knight and nephews, Devin (Kaley) Marlin and Andrew Marlin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Howell Marlin Jr. and Margaret Jo Staggs Marlin; wife, Julie Ann Marlin and brothers, Donnie Brazier and Wayne Brazier.
