WINSTON COUNTY - The annual decoration day and Sacred Harp singing at historic Friendship Primitive Baptist Church, located at 1847 County Road 23 seven miles south of Haleyville off of Old Highway 195, will be Sunday, April 26. Traditional Sacred Harp (shape-note) singing - a tradition at Friendship Church for over 108 years - will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to take part or enjoy the fellowship. Books will be available for loan or purchase. A potluck lunch will be served.
Those with loved ones buried in the cemetery are encouraged to join the cleanup for decoration day on Saturday, April 18, at 9 a.m.
