HALEYVILLE - A tour of the northern section of the historic Byler Road, including a portion of the road that came through Haleyville, is planned for Thursday, Aug. 2. The caravan-style tour will begin at 9:30 a.m. on the south bank of the Tennessee River on Bainbridge Road near Leighton and end with lunch at Banks BBQ on Highway 195 in Haleyville. Some of the stops along the way will include the grave of Aunt Jenny Johnson and Kinlock in the Bankhead National Forest near Haleyville, the grave of Jacob Pruet, a Winston County pioneer, at New Prospect Cemetery.
