ADDISON - A good water supply is a dire need for any community, as evidenced by a major project to restore the Town of Addison’s main water line, which is coming to fruition thanks to a partnership of state and local agencies.
One of the first major projects tackled by Governor Kay Ivey as she began her administration was to help fund a project to give Addison much needed relief, so the town would not have to depend solely on Arley and Vinemont for its water supply, through a new eight-inch line that would span a utility pedestrian bridge.
The total project costs $471,000, with a Community Development Block Grant approved by Ivey and secured by the Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments paying $350,000.
Heath King, director of governmental services for NACOLG, explained  that funding is being provided through an emergency grant by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs.
