Lady Bulldogs win in area action against WCHS

RED BAY - The Addison Lady Bulldogs claimed a 53-38 victory over county rival Winston County Monday, Feb. 4, in the first round of area play at Red Bay High School.
AHS faced Red Bay for the championship title on Friday, Jan 7.
The Lady Bulldogs lead the entire game, with scoring by quarters as follows: 14-7, 26-11, 44-25 and 53-38.
Stats for Addison were: Destiny Walker 20 points, 5 steals, 5 rebounds; Kaylee Brummett 10 points, 9 rebounds,  3 assists; Macey Butler 9 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists; Savannah Manley 7 points, 13 rebounds; Callie Crider 5 points, 9 rebounds; and Karleigh Shipley 2  points.
The Lady Jackets were without their leading point getter senior Saige Blanton. Blanton injured her ankle in a game on Friday, Feb. 1. There were also four other teammates at home with the flu according to Coach Becky Cobb.
Senior Kady Bonds led the Lady Jackets in scoring with 15 points,  6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals; Ella Moore 2 points, 4 rebounds; Jazzy Ergle 3 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals;  Samantha Marcum 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal; Bailey Kelley 9 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals; MacKenzie Blackwood, 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals; Brenna Wakefield, 1 point, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks.
