Weather, lack of employees keep Twin Forks closed

BEAR CREEK - Twin Forks Campgrounds will remain closed past its original March 1, reopening date.
The reasoning behind the delay is the town’s shortage of employees, as well as the vast amount of work needed to improve both the campgrounds and ball fields before the area can come in compliance with regulations of the Bear Creek Development Authority, operating under the Tennessee Valley Authority.
Bear Creek Mayor Tammie Batchelor announced at the council’s regular meeting Tuesday, Feb. 19, that the original reopening date of March 1, will not happen since so much work is needed to be done both in renovation and construction.
