BANKHEAD NATIONAL FOREST - The Bankhead National Forest is seeking public input on the final boundary developed for the Sipsey Fork on the West Ford Wild and Scenic River.
The Sipsey Fork of the West Fork Wild and Scenic River was designated in 1988. This legislation requires the river-administering agency to establish a detailed boundary of an average of not more than 320 acres per river mile. Although many wild and scenic rivers include private lands within the boundaries of the designated river corridor, Forest Service land use management direction for the corridor only applies to National Forest System lands
