LYNN - Jordan Davis, senior at Lynn High School, has signed an athletic scholarship with Seton Hill University of Greensburg, Pa. The university was one of 22 others vying for Davis to attend on a football scholarship.
After carefully selecting those colleges of interest, a road trip was in order.
“We narrowed it down to five,” his father Randall stated. During spring break, the family traveled through nine different states visiting colleges before deciding on Seton Hill.
Davis has been playing football for the Lynn Bears since eighth grade as a running back and linebacker, the latter being the reason for the scholarship.
Davis’ activities at school go beyond athletics. He is a member of the Key Club, along with the Beta Club, and is a bright student.
“Jordan is just a super young man,” Principal Todd Tittle said. “He’s being awarded today for his football abilities, but he’s a lot more than that. I know Jordan is going to do great things in life. He’s one of those kids who makes your school and community better.”
His aspirations are to major in biology and come back home to be a game warden and work for the U.S. Forest Service.
“There ain’t no place like home,” he laughed.
“We wish him the very best and know he is going to be able to do whatever he wants in life,” Tittle stated.
Jordan is the son of Randall and Lavonda Davis and brother to Shaylyn.
In the 2018 football season, Davis rushed 1,310 yards with 4,000 overall. He accumulated 142 tackles and 10 rushing touchdowns.
Chartered in 1918, Seton Hill educates its more than 2,000 students to “think and act critically, creatively and ethically as productive members of society committed to transforming the world.” Seton Hill is accredited nationally by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
