Mrs. Delaine B. Strickland, 76, of Spruce Pine, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020 at Huntsville Hospital. A native of Opelika, she had lived in the Russellville area all of her adult life. She was a retired secretary with the Russellville City School system and had worked at both Wal-Mart and for the City of Russellville. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Her funeral will be Sunday, January 19, 2020, at 2 P.M. at the Pinkard Funeral Home chapel in Russellville. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommie Romine, Steve Romine, Mike Buckingham, James McCarley, Joel McCarley and Jerry McCarley. Burial will follow in Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville.
Mrs. Strickland is survived by her husband, Roy N. Strickland; daughter, Sheree Canida and husband Neal; grandsons, Matthew Tyra and fiancé Amanda and Seth Tyra; sister, Delores Huling and husband Charles; brother-in-law, Mike Carroll; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Motley; and several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Preceeding her in death were her parents, Florine Buckingham and Garland (GG) Buckingham; son, Nick Strickland; brother, Doug Buckingham and sisters, Vera Arnold, Betty Romine, Christina Sherrer, Barbara (Bobbie) Carroll and Nadine Buckingham.
