Self granted parole


Charles Doraine Self

MONTGOMERY - Charles Doraine Self was granted parole Thursday, Feb. 13.  Self was sentenced to 10 years in prison out of Winston County in 2018 for manufacturing a controlled substance.  In 2019, he was sentenced to 2 years to serve concurrently with his previous sentence, this time on an escape charge.

Parole was denied last week to Danny Wilson Rivers and to Rocky Joe Mertens.  Rivers was sentenced in 2018 to 97 months in prison on a conviction of possession of a controlled substance out of Winston County.  Mertens was sentenced t0 180 months in prison in 2017 on a conviction of manufacturing a controlled substance in Franklin County, and was sentenced in 2019 to 5 years to serve concurrently on a conviction for distributing a controlled substance in Winston County.
