The Alabama Department of Public Health has released a new color-coded way to classify counties in the state regarding COVID-19 risk. Winston, Marion and Cullman counties are all classified as very high risk areas for the virus.
As of Tuesday, June 30, Winston County had 229 confirmed cases of the virus, with 79 of those positive tests coming over the past 14 days. There are also two probable cases. Sadly, three Winston County residents have lost their lives to the virus.
Marion County has had 200 confirmed cases of the virus, with 55 cases reported over the past 14 days. Cullman County has 398 confirmed cases, with 118 cases over the past 14 days.
