Janice Newell Carlton, 71, of Phil Campbell, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023.
Janice was a Christian and a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. She lived her life trusting the Lord. She was a hard worker, was determined and achieved her nursing degree at 36 years of age. A self-motivator, she was a singer who knitted many socks and blankets for her beloved children, but her grandchildren got many of her treats. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary, Moose Lodge and American Legion.
She is survived by her children, Dewayne Newell (Sheila), Cynthia Cliffe, Donita Valerius, Andrea Newell, Robert Newell (Connie) and Michael Newell (Alison); brother, Douglas Paul (Marla), as well as a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Jean Paul.
Interment will take place on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 1 p.m., at Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery, in Phil Campbell.
