Charlene White Eason

Charlene White Eason, of Haleyville, formerly of Pell City,  passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

Her graveside service will be Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at noon at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Pell City, with Dr. John Thweatt officiating.  Pinkard Funeral Home will direct.

She is survived by her son, Dewey Russell Eason, his wife Darlene; grandsons, Brian Gregg, Zachary R. Eason and Daniel C. Eason; 8 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Carey White and Freddy Farrow White; husband, Dewey Oliver Eason; daughter, Betty Lynn Gregg and siblings, Billie J. Treadwell, Maddline Foshee and William Russell White.

Charlene grew up on a farm near Hackneyville, where she was proud to say she was driving a logging truck at the age of 13. She finished school at Hackneyville High, having played on the basketball team and being a cheerleader for the football team.

She proceeded to graduate from a beauty school in Montgomery and, being licensed, she worked styling hair in Alexander City. She met a dashing young man, her future husband, Dewey, at a tender age and waited for him to return from WWII, at which time they married. Soon, children were added to the household, Betty and Russell.

Charlene and Dewey were very involved in their churches and communities, living long stretches of times in both Pell City and Albertville. Dewey served at times as Sunday School director and Charlene as Woman Missionary Union leader. Both were hard working in their love and dedication to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Charlene was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
