Lorene Harbin, 93, of Haleyville, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024.
Lorene was born on April 22, 1931 in Jasper to Joe and Eva Cheatwood. She loved to read and liked quilting, needlepoint and embroidery.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 10-11 a.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Kelly Mill Cemetery in Double Springs. Brother Ronnie Melvin will officiate.
Lorene is survived by her sons, Jimmie (Kay) Harbin, Wayne (Arlene) Harbin, Bobby (Kathy) Harbin and Michael (Martha) Harbin; daughter, Emlie “Janice” Neuheisel; 12 grandchildren, Wesley Harbin, Heath (Lisa) Harbin, Tammy (Robby) Bentley, Josh Harbin, Todd Harbin, Jason (Keri) Harbin, Kevin Neuheisel, Jennifer (Douglas) Channell, Joey (Christy) Harbin, Tanya (Bruce) Hood, Wendy Darty and Rachel (Jesse) Edwards; 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Z. Harbin; parents, Joe and Eva Cheatwood; daughter, Mary Joyce Darty; brother, Charles Cheatwood and sisters, Rose Hadley and Beatrice Prescott.
