Legacy Trails Workdays in the Sipsey Wilderness with Wild Alabama

Date

BANKHEAD NATIONAL FOREST - Wild Alabama invites volunteers to work on the repair and restoration of Sipsey Wilderness trails two Wednesdays, Jan. 15 and 29, and two Fridays, Jan. 17 and Jan. 24, this month.

You will get credit for volunteer service hours while doing something in nature with others participating for similar reasons.

Participants must be be 18 years old or be accompanied by an adult. Please bring your food and water for the day in a backpack that can be carried with you on the trail. Please also bring any medicine, whether prescription or OTC, that you might need while you are away from your car.

If you have questions about the workday, or you are concerned because you have a limitation, don't worry! You can speak directly to the Wednesday trail leader, Morgan, through email at Morgan@wildal.org or the Friday trail leader, Lindsay, at Lindsay@wildal.org.

No prior experience is needed to help with Legacy Trails work days! Tools and safety equipment will be provided for each volunteer by the trail leader. If you want to bring your own safety glasses and work gloves, feel free to do so. All volunteers must wear long pants and closed-toed shoes for these work days. You may wear a short-sleeved or long-sleeved shirt.

Register here for Wednesday hikes or here for Friday hikes. You will then be sent further details.
