Cledius Verlon Pendley

Cledius Verlon Pendley, 89, of Lynn, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2025 at U.A.B. Hospital surrounded by his family. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy.  He worked in the coal mines and enjoyed working with wood.

Visitation will be Monday, January 20, 2025 from 2-3 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville. His funeral will begin at 3 p.m. in the chapel, with Dr. Ron Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Lynn Cemetery.

He is survived by his two sons, Bryan (Connie) Pendley and Rodney (Treasure) Pendley; brother, Roger Pendley; sisters, Gail Barnett and Fanchion Brock; grandchildren, Molly (Chad) Rawls, Leah (David) Wideman, Maggie (Jonathan) Dill, Sam Pendley and Jesse Pendley; great-grandchildren, Ann Marie Hulsey, Lizzy Rawls, Lydia Rawls, Mila Dill, John Sawyer Rawls, Dallas Dill, Halie Bishop, Aubrey Lockey (Kody Cooke), Atalie Lackey and Kyson Lackey and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Bryant Pendley; parents, Carl Pendley and Lilly Pendley; brothers, Orville Pendley, Troy Pendley, R.E. Pendley, Nelson Pendley and Doyle Pendley; sister, Lois Hardin and grandson, Chris Lackey.
