Robert Lee "Bobby" "PayDay" Thrasher, 73, of Russellville, formerly of Haleyville, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025. He was a retired truck driver.
Our Dad was a wonderful father, papa and friend to many. He had a big heart and a laugh that could fill a room - deep, warm and unforgettable. Everyone who knew him loved him for his kindness and sense of humor. He spread his laughter many miles as a trucker and is known to many as "Payday." He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter and will be missed.
The family will have a gathering of family and friends Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 5-6 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville. His celebration of life service will begin at 6 p.m. in the chapel, with Dr. Ron Horton officiating.
He is survived by his children, Terri (David) Pounders, Lindsay Thrasher and Josh (Abral) Thrasher; grandchildren, Andy (Nicola) Pounders, Connor Pounders, Braylie Harbin, Addasyn Harbin and Ariella Thrasher; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Patrick and Rosemary Pounders and sisters, Annette Postell and Paulette Mitchum.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Thrasher and Leola Hazel Baccus Thrasher; wife, Debra Sartin Thrasher and special friend, Betty Green.
