Carolyn Canida, 75, of Double Springs, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026, at her home surrounded by loved ones. A gathering of friends will take place Friday, April 10, 2026 from 12-1 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where her memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Brother Anthony Mize and Brother David Crane will officiate.
Carolyn was born June 28, 1950. She enjoyed shopping and going to the Mountains. She loved her family, grandbabies and great-grandbabies more than anything. Carolyn loved her animals and especially her dog, Darby Pearl.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vadis and Goldie Flanagin and brothers, Gerald, Elzie, Billy and Jerry Flanagin.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 58 years, Larry Canida; daughters, Vicki Walton and Nicki (Anthony) Horton; grandchildren, Rusty (Kim) Walton, Shae (Derrick) Walton, Brandon Woodard and Brittany Woodard; great-grandchildren, Alivia, Kayleigh and Crimson Walton, Lynnlee, Brook and Emma Mobley and Emberlin, Gracie, Callie and Grayden Woodard; siblings, Ruth Ray and Kathy Smith and brother, Johnny Flanagin.
