HALEYVILLE - Haleyville Elementary School Principal Christy Bice has announced several important dates for students and parents to keep in mind as the first day of school approaches.
Homeroom announcements will be made Tuesday, July 24, at 8 a.m. Parents and students can stop by to see who their child's teacher will be for the upcoming school year. Fourth and fifth graders' class schedules and homeroom assignments will also be available on this date.
Monday, Aug. 6, will be Pre-K and Kindergarten Kick Off at HES. Parents and teachers can come by the school beginning at 5:30 p.m. Pre-K parents will meet in the library and kindergarten parents will meet in the lunchroom. Students will go to the gymnasium, where they will have supervised activities while the parents are given important information. After the meetings, parents and students can go meet their teacher and drop off their school supplies.
In a different format from the last few years, the meet and greet for 1-5th grade students and their parents prior to the beginning of school will take place during the day, not after 5 p.m. Students and parents can stop by the school on Tuesday, Aug. 7, between noon and 3 p.m. to meet the teachers and drop off school supplies.
School supply lists for each grade are available at on the schools' Facebook Page.
The first day for Haleyville City Schools students will be Wednesday, Aug. 8.
