Betty Rogers Robison

Mrs. Betty Robison, 88, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at her residence in Russellville. A native of Russellville, Mrs. Robison was a member of Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church #2 in Russellville, a member of the Alabama Education Association and retired after 25 years of service with the Franklin County School System as a first grade teacher at Belgreen School. Fondly remembered as “The Duck Lady", Mrs. Betty always began the new school year with duck eggs to be hatched in incubators in her classroom. As these eggs hatched and the ducks grew, the children learned important lessons like dependability, caring, sharing, life and death. Some of the ducks even made it to the children’s homes where some of their lives continued for several years.
