Fields found guilty of murder/felony murder

DOUBLE SPRINGS - Ashley Brooke Fields, 26, of Arley, has been found guilty of murder/felony murder at the end of her murder trial which lasted 10 days at the Winston County Courthouse.
The jury began deliberations at 11:30 Thursday, Aug. 9 & reconvened before Presiding Circuit Judge Lee Carter to have the charges explained once more on Friday morning. After reconvening into deliberations the jury reached a verdict around 2:15 p.m. Friday.  Judge Carter asked each juror if that was his or her opinion and each responded yes.
Fields came before the court charged with capital murder and murder/felony murder in the December 2015 death of her six- month-old daughter Adalyn Marie Fields.
Murder/felony murder means that Fields commits the crime of murder while committing another felony dangerous to human life which in her case was aggravated child abuse.
Fields sentencing hearing will be Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 1:30 p.m.
