WINSTON COUNTY - The River City Scholarship Pageant - an official Miss Alabama preliminary - will take place Sunday, Oct. 28, at Hartselle High School.
The pageant is open to young women who live, work or attend school in Winston, Cullman, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan counties. Scholarships will be awarded to the winners of Miss River City and River City Outstanding Teen.
Miss River City contestants must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent as of July 31, 2019. Miss River City contestants must not be older than 25 as of Dec. 31, 2019. Outstanding Teen contestants must be 13 on or before March 1, 2019 and cannot be older than 17 as of July 31, 2019. The entrance fee is $100.
The Rising Stars Program is not a competition, but a mentoring and learning process for young ladies ages 7-11. The entrance fee is $100, and the girls will take part in an etiquette class and be introduced onstage at the pageant.
