ADDISON- Addison Civitan Club met Aug. 30, at the Addison Community Center. New members Martha Freeman, Theresa Westmoreland and Elaine Smith were welcomed.
The bank statement was reviewed and approved. A couple of previous projects were discussed as an example to the new members to show some of what Addison Civitans do to help people within the community. Some of those accomplishments include a metal table for Addison Schools outdoor classroom and purchasing a wheelchair that locks for a disabled person.
On going projects for the Addison Civitan Club include providing scholarships for two Addison High School seniors each year; helping to sponsor “Christmas in the Park” at Alexander Park each December; helping sponsor needy children in the community with gifts for Christmas and other needs in the community.
