DOUBLE SPRINGS - The eighth annual Empty Bowls dinner will be served up Thursday, Oct. 11, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Double Springs Municipal Building, located on Highway 195 south.
A dual benefit for both the Winston County Arts Council and Main Street Ministries in Double Springs, Empty Bowls is a wonderful dinner where the main course includes a dazzling array of soups from some of the county’s best chefs to sample. A bake sale will take place, along with a silent auction, and all attendees go home with a free bowl, made in the county’s own pottery workshop housed on the campus of Meek Schools.
This year’s event will also feature a new event - a four item raffle: a diamond rign, a three-piece pearl jewelry set, donated by Ed White Jewelers in Cullman and $100 gift cards from Home Depot and Harbor Freight.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. To purchase a ticket, see any Arts Council member or visit the Arley Public Library. To volunteer to make a soup or to serve in another way, call Theresa at 205-489-2826.
