DOUBLE SPRINGS - Voters are expressing grievance, some even saying they are being discriminated against in the voting process, since the precinct lines have changed due to the latest census, meaning some voters are now at a different polling site than where they have traditionally voted.
“We are very unhappy with our voting situation,” Shirley Steele Johnson, who with husband Norman Johnson and resident Coy Martin attended the Monday, Oct. 8 Winston County Commission meeting, to express their grievances.
“They are trying to force us to do what we don’t want to do,” Johnson pointed out.
“No ma’am I don’t think they are,” noted Commission Administrative Clerk Judy Burnett. “This is a situation that did come up at the election. There was a section of about 12 voters who vote in Ashridge.”
