Teresa "TC" Anita Benefield, 59, of Haleyville, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Princeton Baptist Hospital surrounded by loving family.
Teresa was born on April 29, 1959, in Haleyville. Teresa was known as "TC" by family and friends. This nickname was given to her by her daddy. She was a member of Frost Chapel Church for 20 years, where she sung in the choir. TC and her brother Ronnie were the founders and creators of the group Still Waters. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ, her family, especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, and singing with Ronnie Steele, Donnie Steele, Phyllis Schrader, Donnie Schrader, and her Momma Mary. TC enjoyed crafts, painting and shopping.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where her funeral will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 1 p.m. Brother James Garrison will officiate. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Teresa is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Steve Benefield; sons, Chris Hyde and wife Rose, Andy Hyde and wife Dalena, and Joshua Hyde; brother, Robert Weaver; sisters, Deb Bankston, and Patricia Richards and husband Phillip and special sister and brother, Phyllis and Donnie Schrader. She was "Nanny" to 7 grandchildren, Zach Cordell, Ryan Hyde, Josh Hyde, Mandy Hyde, Joe Pahkanen, David Pahkanen and Christopher Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Joe Steele; mother, Mary and husband Frank Crumpton; brothers, Ronnie Steele and Donnie Steele and sister, Sheila Steele Davenport.
