WINSTON COUNTY   -  The last person to be arrested in a recent interstate drug operation has turned himself in at the Winston County Jail after warrants had been issued against him.
Brandon Charles Benge, 26,  of Haleyville turned himself in on March 19, facing charges of two counts of trafficking marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking in a controlled substance, according to Winston County Sheriff’s Investigator Brad Curtis.
After making bond and being released from the Winston County  Jail, Benge was transferred to answer drug-related charges in Lauderdale County, Curtis added.
“All warrants have been executed in this case,” Curtis pointed out.
The interstate drug operation has been intercepted by local and regional agencies, who seized two containers containing around eight total pounds of marijuana in air tight bags that were mailed from southern California to the post office in Haleyville.
