Garbage route changes for Independence Day

WINSTON/MARION - With the Fourth of July falling on a Thursday this year, several area sanitation departments will also be taking Friday, July 5, as a holiday.  This means garbage routes will be changed next week.
The Winston County Sanitation Department will be closed Thursday, July 4.  Route changes are as follows:Routes 16 and 19, Tuesday, July 2; Routes 17 and 18, Wednesday, July 3 and Route 20, Friday, July 5.
Please remember to have your garbage out by 6 a.m. on your pickup day.  Garbage placed outside after that time will be picked up on the next collection day.
The Haleyville Street and Sanitation Department will be closed both Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, for the holiday.  Thursday’s garbage routes will be picked up on Wednesday, July 3, along with the normal Wednesday routes.  Friday’s garbage routes will be picked up on Monday, July 8, along with the normal Friday route.
Marion County Solid Waste will also be closed Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5.  Therefore, there will be no trash collection on those dates.  Thursday’s routes will be collected on Wednesday, July 3, along with the normal Wednesday routes and Friday’s routes will be picked up on Monday, July 8, along with the regular Monday route.
