Bear Creek plans festival on July 4

BEAR CREEK - The town of Bear Creek is planning its own Independence Day festival, which will be held on the actual holiday Thursday, July 4, separate and apart from the FreedomFest this upcoming weekend.
The July 4 event, which will be called The Town of Bear Creek Fourth of July Celebration on the Lake, will include a list of fun activities planned, emphasized Mayor Tammie Batchelor.
The town council in a work session Tuesday, June 25, ironed out the details of the festival, which is set to begin  at 7 p.m. at the park’s pavilion, just past the boat launch area of Twin Forks Park off County Highway 79.
Cody Bowen and Austin Lewis will be performing together on stage from 7-8:30 p.m., with a break for a fireworks show followed by the headline act Winston Ramble from 9 p.m. until about midnight, Batchelor announced.
The public is cordially invited to bring their lawn chairs and come out to enjoy an evening of live entertainment capped off with a patriotic fireworks show.
