HUNTSVILLE - Now in it’s 31st year, the annual Dog Ball benefiting the Greater Huntsville Humane Society (GHHS) will be hosted at the Von Braun Center South Hall Saturday, Feb. 8. This year’s theme is BARK AVENUE.
During the event, GHHS will present 50 Very Important Dogs (VIDs) from across the community — some that are looking for their "furever" homes and will be available for adoption. Every dog has a unique story, which is shared as they each take to the runway to strut their stuff. If your dog is a VID that deserves a stroll down the red carpet, make sure to get your spot reserved today, as VID spots are limited.
The evening begins at 5:45 PM with a social hour that gives guests time to make silent auction bids, meet the cutest fur babies ever and enjoy the company of friends from across North Alabama. This year's silent auction includes many dog-related items, fine jewelry, local art, trips, animal portraits, veterinary services and much more. A “live” auction will give guests an opportunity to win tickets to the 2020 Westminster Dog Show and a VISA card for trip expenses. A sit-down dinner and the Very Important Dog runway presentation will close out the night.
Individual and group tickets are available, as well as sponsorship opportunities and tables to show support for animals in need. All proceeds benefit the GHHS, whose mission is to further the humane care and treatment of animals and provide adoption services for unwanted and homeless animals.
“The Dog Ball helps provide critical funding that enables GHHS to offer such programs and services as healthcare and food to low-income households, humane education and outreach and a safe place for homeless pets to find their forever homes,” stated Anne Caldwell, GHHS CEO. “This fun-filled, elegant evening is consistently our largest fundraiser – even after all these years!”
