DOUBLE SPRINGS - The COIN Program meeting scheduled for today, Wednesday, March 17, has been postponed, due to the potential for severe weather.
It has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 31, at 1:30 p.m. in the new courtroom in the Bobby Aderholt Judicial Complex. The meeting, which is open to teens and parents, will be titled "Cell Phones, Sexting and Social Media Safety". These are some of the top issues leading to criminal charges for teens across Winston County and statewide.
Speakers will include 25th Judical Circuit District Attorney Scott Slatton, Assistant District Attorney CeJe’ Hearn and 25th Judicial Circuit Investigator Rusty Hulsey.
This program will provide an excellent opportunity for teens to learn how to protect not just themselves, but their reputations on social media, as well as for parents to learn how to protect their children and themselves from criminal liability and, most importantly, negative outside influence.
All parents and teenagers are encouraged to make plans to attend.
