George William Sartin, 78, of Lynn, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at UAB Hospital. He went home surrounded by his wife and children. He was a retired supervisor in the surface mining industry.
Visitation will be Friday, July 16, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville. His funeral will be at 4 p.m. in the chapel, with Bro. James E. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in the Wiley Branch community.
Pallbearers will be Randy Barton, Chad Barton, Charlie Franks, Dru Franks, Kyle Jent and Zachary Jent.
George was born August 5, 1942 in Delmar to Girtice and Lillie Sartin. He was a big Alabama football fan. He loved playing his guitar, drag racing and spending time with his family and many friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Judy Sartin, daughters, Judy (Patrick) Jent, Sherry (Gary) Wates and Shala (Chad) Harris; daughter-in-law, Debbie Jordan; siblings, Otis McBroom, Joyce Ann Sartin, Ray McBroom, Fay Mann and Waymon McBroom; grandchildren, Kyle, Zachary, Lily, Chet, Callen, Clint, Caleb and Cortni and 9 great-grandchildren.
He is joined in Heaven by his parents, Girtice Sartin and Lillie Sartin Partain; sons, Kerry Sartin and Randy Jordan and grandparents, Hub and Effie Farris and William Moses and Wina Sartin.
