ARLEY - Meek Baptist Church is planning a party, and everyone is invited!
A free community concert and block party will be taking place at the church, which is located on Helicon Road in Arley, Sunday, Aug. 8, beginning at 6 p.m.  Country music artist Matt Stillwell, from Sylva, NC, is bringing his Hometown House Party Tour to Arley,.  Stillwell has had three Billboard-charting singles and 6 CMT and Great American Country Top 10 videos.
Stillwell will be joined at Meek Baptist by food vendors.  There will also be inflatables for the children, games and much more!  Only the food vendors will be charging attendees, and attendees who prefer to bring picnic meals will be allowed to do so.
“We desire to love our community, connect with our community and serve out community to the glory of God,”  Meek Baptist Pastor Corey Cochran said.  “That is the motto we live life by here at Meek Baptist Church, to Love, Connect and Serve.”
Meek Baptist Children’s Director Anne Knowlton, who is coordinating the block party event, said, “Meek Baptist Church is excited about this outreach opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy some wholesome fun and festivities.”
The block party and concert will take place rain or shine.  If it rains, there is enough room at the church to move everything indoors.
