HALEYVILLE - Nov. 15-19 is DECA week, and the Haleyville Center of Technology's 82-member DECA Club is celebrating the organization's rich history, with planned activities each day this week.

Students enrolled in business, finance, accounting and marketing classes at Haleyville COT are members of this dynamic group.

Beginning in January, DECA members will begin preparing for State Career Development competition, which will take place later in the month.  Winners will move on to ICDC national competition in Atlanta in April.

With a 75-year history, DECA has impacted the lives of more than ten million students, educators, school administrators and business professionals since it was founded in 1946. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

DECA’s faculty sponsor at Haleyville COT is Neina Middleton
