Summer reading program schedules announced

WINSTON COUNTY - Summer reading programs for ages 5-12 begin next month at all Carl Elliott Regional Libraries in Winston County and will include one public event featuring James Spann at the Double Springs Public Library.
This year's summer reading program theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library, and all three libraries within the county - Arley, Double Springs and Haleyville have great line-ups of programs planned.
At Arley Public Library, located at 6788 County Road 41, the programs will take place on Wednesdays from 1-2 p.m. Call (205) 387-0129 to register as soon as possible.
The schedule of programs in Arley is as follows:
•  June 12: Snead's Farm Animal Fun;
•  June 19: McWane Science Explorations;
• June 26: Journey to Town of Arley;
•  July 3: Adventures in Pottery;
• July 10: Mr. Larry's Magical Mysteries;
• July 17: 4-H Quest and Finale at Hamner Park.
Double Springs Public Library, located at 637 Blake Drive within the Double Springs Community Center, will hold its program on Tuesdays from 10-11 a.m. Call (205) 489-2412 to register by June 4 if possible.
The schedule of programs in Double Springs  is as follows:

• June 11: Maynard Magic and Music (with ventriloquism);

 • June 18: Land to Sea Exotics;
•  June 25: Animalogy;
• July 2: James Spann. The public is invited to attend;
• July 9: Russell Davis Presents the “The Magic of Reading”;
• July 16: Finale—Nature on Wheels (birds of prey and reptiles.)
At Haleyville Public Library, located at 913 20th Street, the program will take place on Thursdays from 10-11 a.m. Space is limited; register as soon as possible by calling (205) 486-7450.
Haleyville’s schedule of programs is as follows:

• June 13: Kick Off with Smokey the Bear and  the U.S. Forest Service;
• June 20: Super Science Tennessee;
• June 27: Skins and Skulls with Winston County Extension;
• July 11: River Kids with Winston County Extension;
• July 18: Russell Davis Presents the “The Magic of Reading”;
• July 25: Finale at T5 Events (across from HPL.)
