North Alabama Mural Trail passes through Double Springs

Window shutters, with the bottom row of panes painted in with flowers on it, are displayed on the south side of Rosey Posey's in Double Springs, which is now included on the North Alabama Mural Trail..

DOUBLE SPRINGS - Artists abound in Alabama, and it is eye-catching to see their work as murals on buildings and other objects. To help promote tourism, the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association has announced the new North Alabama Mural Trail, which has 125 places in 16 counties in the northern part of the state. Winston County has an official stop on the trail, located at Rosey Posey’s Flowers and Gifts in Double Springs.
There are three types of paintings on the historic building. The first one is the sign above the door painted on the red brick, completed in 2019. The other two are painted on the red brick on the side facing south: a set of window shutters painted beside the windows and two flower stands at the back door. They were completed in 2020. The artist is Missy Miles of Hamilton.
“When she brought her portfolio in, I was blown away,” Teresa Posey, owner of Rosey Posey’s, said. “(The windows are) what I wanted for my birthday. We always knew we wanted to do something to the side. I didn’t want to do anything too drastic. She does great and is fun to work with.”
