James Harold Waid, 68, of Haleyville, went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2026, after long, extended illnesses.

Gary Wakefield

Gary Wayne Wakefield, born August 14, 1954, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Gary spent the majority of his life in Double Springs, Alabama, before moving to Tuscaloosa in 2017 to be closer to his cherished grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Noah and Flora Cobb and Howard and Lena Wakefield; his parents, Lloyd “Buck” and Jean Wakefield; his brother, Steven Wakefield; his nephew, Bradley Wakefield; and his in‑laws, Alfred and Vernie Townsend.

Charlotte Estill

Charlotte Diane Estill, 67, of Nauvoo, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026.  The family will receive friends on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 1 p.m. at New Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church, where her funeral will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Pocahontas Cemetery.  Collins-Burke Funeral Home will direct.

Virginia Adair

Virginia Louise Adair, 72, of Nauvoo, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at her residence.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, where her funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Collins-Burke chapel.  Burial will be at Ashbank Cemetery.

Billy Ray Tidwell, 83, Haleyville, went home to be with the Lord and join his beloved wife, Linda, walking the streets of gold Monday, June 8, 2026.
