Ruth Shelton Adkins

Ruth Shelton Adkins, 81, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022.

Ruth was a devoted Christian and a member of North Highlands Church of Christ. She taught Sunday School for many years. She was homecoming queen, drum majorette and valedictorian of Russellville High School's Class of 1958.

She is survived by her son, Nicholas Wayne Adkins of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Wyatt Adkins (Nola) of Nashville, Tennessee and Clementine Barnette (Taylor) of Nashville, Tennessee.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Adkins; her parents, Gilbert and Ludie Shelton; brothers, Ranny Hutchins and Grover Hutchins and sisters, Edna Teague, Faye Magino and Jewell Swindel.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 10 a.m.- noon in the chapel of Pinkard Funeral Home of Russellville. Her funeral will follow in the chapel at noon. Bro. Philip Goad, pastor of North Highlands Church of Christ, will officiate.
