Wings of Hope gala benefiting Addie’s Place March 14

Tracey Holley, left, executive assistant and lead forensic interviewer at Addie's Place Child Advocacy Center in Double Springs, and Center Director Diane Watson urge the public to attend the upcoming Wings of Hope Gala and support the mission of Addie's Place.

DOUBLE SPRINGS - What has been described as a fun-filled fundraising event for Addie’s Place Child Advocacy Center will take place Saturday, March 14, at the second annual Wings of Hope gala.
Reservations for seats and tables for the gala, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Double Springs Municipal Building at 23415 Highway 195, are ongoing  but should be made by March 2, emphasized Addie’s Place Executive Director Diane Watson.
Tables can be reserved under various sponsorships, each of which consists of eight individual seats.
Individual seats can be purchased for $50 each, with reservations also being made under various sponsorships including  Bronze at $400, Silver at $600, Gold at $800 and Platinum at $1,000, according to organizers.
Reservations can be made by contacting Watson at diane@addiesplace.org or by calling (205) 272-2338 or Tracey Holley at tracey@addiesplace.org or (205) 269-7102.
Payment can be made by cash, check, PayPal or the Cash App, organizers said.
The gala will consist of a meal catered by Frances’ Catering, with live music provided by the Wallace State Jazz Band. Dress is formal, organizers said.
Sponsorships will include images made by Shae Burnett Photography. Pottery bowls from the Winston County Pottery Workshop and art displayed by the Winston County Arts Council will be available for purchase at the gala, with all proceeds benefiting Addie’s Place, Watson explained. The gala will also include a silent auction.
Special remarks will be made at the gala by keynote speaker Kelly Williams from Tupelo, Miss.
Williams, who is executive director of Stone Stories Ministries, will tell her personal story as documented in the novel “A Broken Mirror,” written by Sara Berry.
“I am excited about Williams’ appearance, as Kelly experienced trauma in her own life.  She’s been through the system.  She understands what we are dealing with, who we work with and the difficulties a lot of families have with getting services,” Watson pointed out.
Watson hopes the public will attend the gala and support the mission of Addie’s Place, located on Highway 195 in Double Springs, in providing help for children from Winston and Marion counties, who are victims of physical, emotional, sexual and verbal abuse, or those who have witnessed a  crime, Watson explained.
“We get a lot who are witnesses of domestic violence,” Watson pointed out.
“I would like to invite everybody to join us at this year’s gala to support Addie’s Place and child victims we serve in Marion and Winston counties,” Watson stated.
