Albert F. Murrell, 78, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 12, 2026, with his family by his side.
Albert was born in Rock Island, Illinois, to the late Allen Charles Murrell and Bonnie Jean Bowman Murrell. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandpa. He retired after 22 years of service with Universal Minerals as the plant manager. He was a proud United States Air Force Veteran from 1968-1972 during the Vietnam War and served in the National Guard afterward. Albert enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and his all-time favorite hobbies were AutoCross and road racing in his Corvettes. He was the Kentucky Regional SCCA Executive for 3 terms, and a Kentucky Colonel. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his late parents and brother, Richard Murrell.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 57 years, Elois Ellan Murrell; sons, Wilder Allen Murrell (Joy) and Kenneth Murrell (Scarlet); grandchildren, Alyssa Joy Murrell and Joshua Allen Murrell; brothers, Charles Murrell, Alvin Murrell and Allen Murrell; sister Sylvia Murrell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 1-3 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where his funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Addison.
