HALEYVILLE - In a very short Haleyville City Council meeting Monday, Jan. 7, council members learned from Haleyville Mayor Ken Sunseri about two new items that will benefit not only residents, but the city’s first responders.
The Haleyville Fire Department has ordered a new Jaws of Life set, Sunseri stated.
“The fire department got in touch with me about needing a new Jaws of Life set because of the new metal being used on vehicles. We went through a cooperative program that saved around $2,500. They are ordering the Jaws for $29,512,53,” Sunseri said.
Digital radios will soon be coming to the Haleyville Police Department, Sunseri announced. The amount of the grant will be approximately $39,000. The grant will come through the Department of Homeland Security.
