WINFIELD - Alabama District 17 State Representative Tracy Estes was arrested on Friday, Sept. 20, on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.

HALEYVILLE - The Winfield Pirates took the opening season win against Haleyville Friday night, 19-13.
The score was tied 13-13, when the Pirates scored with 3:36 left in the game on a completion from quarterback Joseph Estes to Joseph Cox. The PAT was blocked, one of two on the night for the Lions.

WINFIELD - The Haleyville Lady Lions volleyball team defeated the Winfield Lady Pirates in three straight matches on Thursday, Sept. 13. Haleyville won 25-19, 25-11 and 25-17 at Winfield.
Stats for the Lady Lions were:
Kills: Allie Temple-7; Allison Watkins-6; Ashton McCullar-6;
Assists: Kaylee Riddle-10; Laura Lunsford-7; Allie Temple-4;
Aces: Adyson Robertson-6. Robertson was named Player of the Game as well. Ashton McCullar had 4 aces; Kaylee Riddle-2;
Digs: Allie Temple-8; Laura Lunsford-6.

Phillips goes undefeated in Officials Tournament; Haleyville goes 3-2

The Officials Volleyball Tournament held at Winfield High School, Saturday, Aug. 18, featured teams from Haleyville, Hamilton, Lamar County, Marion County, Phillips and Winfield. PHS went undefeated in the tournament. Pictured are Alicyn McCollum and Gracie Hallman, PHS, going for a block on Allie Temple, from Haleyville High School. Haleyville went 3 and 2 in the tournament, winning against Hamilton, Marion County and Lamar County.
