Healthcare Heroes returns April 24

Back by popular demand, the Alabamian is planning to run another Healthcare Heroes special section this year.
“We were very pleased with the response we received in 2023 when we honored our healthcare heroes,”  Alabamian Managing Editor Shelly Hess said.  “We had so many people reach out after the section came out who wanted to be recognized if we created another section like this that we decided to do it again.”
Healthcare Heroes recognizes local residents and natives of the area who work in all aspects of healthcare - doctors, nurses, technicians, therapists, pharmacists, administrative employees and more.  
“Like all other professions, it takes everyone working together to get the job done right,”  Hess said.  “That is why we want to recognize everyone who works in healthcare.
The Healthcare Heroes section will print Wednesday, April 24, and will include photos  of healthcare professionals, along with their names, job titles and where they work.  Unlike the Alabamian’s annual Veterans section, anyone who was in the section last year will need to submit their photos and information again.  
“We want to make sure that all information is accurate for everyone who is included in this section, so that is why we are asking people to submit their photos and information again,”  Hess said.
To submit photos and information, send them to news@mynwapaper.com.  Photos and information can also be dropped off at the Alabamian office on Highway 195 in Haleyville Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.  Those who would prefer to mail their photos and information can do so by sending it to:

“Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you want your photo returned,”  Hess said.
An information form has been included on an ad on Page 15 of today’s paper, as well.  A printable form will also be placed on mynwapaper.com this week.
There is no charge to submit a photo and information for this section.  The submission deadline is Friday, April 12, at 5 p.m.
