Judy Carolyn King

Judy Carolyn King, 79, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Haleyville Health and Rehabilitation Center. 

She was born September 23, 1945, in Bear Creek to William and Ila Bishop. Judy spent 27 years as a substitute teacher for Haleyville City Schools. She was a member of Old Union Baptist Church. In her later years when she wasn't able to attend much, she would still study her Bible. 

Visitation will be Monday, April 28, 2024, from 12-2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville where the service will follow at 2 p.m. with brother Vinlon Bradford officiating. The burial will be in Winston Memorial Cemetery. 

Judy is survived by her daughter, Kristan King Pounders (Johnny Michael Pounders); granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Pounders; sisters, Corene Thomas and Nelda Wilson. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth King; mother, Ila Bishop; father, William Bishop; brother, Arlie Bishop.
