Virginia Vernett McCarter Crane Sherron, of Union City, Tenn., passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026. Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
Virginia was born October 11, 1936, in Winston County to the late Pearl and John McCarter. Mrs. Sherron left Haleyville in 1955, moving to Chicago and married the late Frank Crane. In 1993, she and her late husband, Dorris Andrew Sherron, moved to Tiptonville, Tenn. and in 2005 moved to Union City.
In addition to her husbands and parents, Mrs. Sherron was preceded in death by her daughters, Wanda Burton and Vanessa Wudke and siblings, Elmer (Deleen) McCarter, Odell (Ellis) Tunner, Janell (JL) McCreless, Betty (Jasper) Martin, Sue (Clyde) Donaldson, Don (Dean) McCarter and Jimmy McCarter.
She is survived by her children, Randy and Linda Crane, Keith Crane, Robert Burton and Herb Wudke and her grandchildren, Jennifer, Mike, Jason, Amanda, Meghann, Deidre and Chris; 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She loved them all very much.
